I owned UX for KRAFT App from research to prototype, balancing user needs with product goals and technical limits. I worked closely with the founders and developers to ship a testable MVP.
Project Type
Mobile Application (iOS/Android)
Tools Used
Figma, User Research Tools, Agile Methodologies
My Role
UX Designer & Research Lead
Project Time
6 Months (Research to MVP)
Research & Discovery
I interviewed runners and organizers early to test assumptions and define the core use cases:
- Conducting qualitative interviews with runners and organizers (e.g., Kristian from Hamburg's Early Bird Läufe)
- Identifying pain points in existing tools and workflows used by local running communities
- Turning findings into practical personas and journey maps
Design Process
Information Architecture & Flow Design
Based on research insights, I defined the app's primary flows:
- Discovering runs by category (social, competitive, recovery, etc.)
- Signing up and managing event participation
- Creating and publishing new events
Prototyping & Interaction Design
In Figma, I built clickable prototypes of the full app flow. They became our shared source of truth across design, product, and engineering.
Testing & Iteration
I organized and moderated remote user tests using the Figma prototype. These sessions provided concrete feedback on terminology, button placement, and flow clarity, leading to rapid iterations based on user feedback.
Collaboration & Alignment
Working closely with developers in a lean team structure, I ensured design decisions were feasible and clearly communicated. Key milestones included aligning on a test launch around the Berlin Half Marathon to attract early adopters.
Outcome
The outcome was a validated MVP prototype for both runners and event organizers. The team could implement quickly, launch with confidence, and iterate from a solid baseline.
